A flower as inspiration
I had such a great response on Instagram with the picture of a country scene turned place setting I am going to do another inspirational piece. After all, we are always looking to find ways to change and rearrange our spaces and make them fresh, new and relevant to our lives. If we can use what we have and not go out and buy something every time we want a new look then this is what happens:
a. our significant others will be happier;
b. we can buy more wine with the savings; and
3. we can do it more often (design that is).
This picture is of the flower that shoots out of a bromeliad in our tropical climate. They are pretty weird looking, not really a flower but something other worldly. Needless to say, this could be a great takeoff for a whole home, don’t get me started.
What made me create a small table area wasn’t the color as much as the texture. When you look at a picture like this it doesn’t mean that you have to use this exact color either, you could go orange, green, blue, anything. It is just what gets your creativity going. There is no right or wrong way, only your way. You could give me a picture of anything and I could create a room, space or vignette from it, just like a chef could probably do the same thing.
I am using a bit of the pinky tone, but more of the texture on texture is what I am after. See this first picture before I put anything on the table.
Then in this second picture I have added some items to the table and then changed them around to find the final look that appealed to me the most.
Of course, when you add a chihuahua to the mix, it really makes me happy. Don’t be afraid, just jump in and look around your own home and take a look at your pictures and a whole new space can be a hashtag flower away! #flower
